Scott Thacher

Biography

Mr. Scott Thacher, PhD founded Orphagen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in 2001 and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Thacher has over 30 years of experience in life sciences research and pharmaceutical R&D. From 1993 to 2001, he worked on retinoid and rexinoid drug discovery and preclinical development programs in acne, psoriasis, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes at Allergan, where he worked with Dr. Chandraratna. He is a Co-Founder, Director and Member of Scientific Advisory Board at Io Therapeutics, Inc. He serves as Director of Orphagen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Mr. Thacher served on the biochemistry faculty at the Texas A&M College of Medicine from 1986 to 1993. He holds a Ph.D. in Biophysics from Harvard University and a B.S. in Physics from Stanford University.
