Joseph D. Rupp

Biography

Mr. Joseph D. Rupp, also known as Joe, served as the Chairman of Olin Corporation since July 2005 until April 27, 2017 and served as its Chief Executive Officer from January 2002 to May 1, 2016. Mr. Rupp served as the President of Olin Corporation from January 2002 to May 2014. He served as an Executive Vice President of Operations at Olin Corporation and was responsible for all its business operations including the Brass Division, (currently the Metals Group), Winchester and Chlor Alkali Products since March 2001. He served as a Vice President of Manufacturing and Engineering at Metals Group of Olin Corporation since 1985. He served as the President of Olin Brass and its Corporate Vice President since 1996. Mr. Rupp joined Olin's Brass Division in 1972 and held a number of positions of increasing responsibility in the Brass Division. He has been a Director of Cass Information Systems, Inc. since October 21, 2016 and Dot Foods, Inc. since 2009. He has been Director of Owens-Illinois, Inc. since October 2, 2017. He has been a Director at Quanex Building Products Corporation since 2007 and serves as its Lead Director. He served as a Director of Gerdau Special Steel North America (Formerly, Gerdau MACSTEEL, Inc.) since January 2, 2007. He served as a Director of Olin Corporation from January 2002 to April 27, 2017. He served as a Director of American Chemistry Council Inc. He serves as a Trustee of Missouri University of Science and Technology. Mr. Rupp holds a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Missouri, Rolla.
