Derek Stewart

Biography

Derek is a licensed Electrical Engineer with over 20 years of experience working in the following positions: Manager, Operator, Electrician, Electronics Technician, and Protection Engineer. In his youth, Derek served in the United States Navy as an Instructor, Nuclear Plant Operator, and Electrician on shore, and aboard the submarine USS Chicago. After the Navy, Derek studied electronics and spent several years working at Intel as an Engineering Technician. In 2002, Derek received his B.S. degree (magna cum laude) in Electrical Engineering from California State University Sacramento and spent the next eight years working as the lead Protection Engineer for the California Department of Water Resources. In 2010 Derek started, then managed the Sacramento office of Relay Application Innovation, Inc. In 2014 Derek cofounded Pacific Power Engineers, Inc. in Rancho Cordova, CA.
