Biography
Board-certified dermatologist Richard L. Sturm, M.D., has been serving the needs of Atlanta dermatology patients for more than 30 years. His unique blend of expertise and friendly, easygoing bedside manner puts patients immediately at ease. Although Richard L. Sturm, M.D.'s professional focus is in dermatologic surgery, he offers a breadth of cosmetic and medical skincare services for patients of all ages. Richard L. Sturm, M.D. earned his bachelor of science from Duke University in 1975 and his medical degree from Emory University in 1980. From there, he completed an internship in pediatrics at Miami's Jackson Memorial Hospital, followed by a residency in dermatology at Emory. At Emory, Richard L. Sturm, M.D. was chief dermatology resident in 1984. Today, Richard L. Sturm, M.D. holds the position of associate clinical professor of dermatology at Emory, and he specializes in teaching dermatologic surgery – including skin cancer treatment. Over the years, he has served as secretary-treasurer and president of the Atlanta Dermatological Association, president of the Georgia Society of Dermatologic Surgeons, and president of the Georgia Society of Dermatologists. Richard L. Sturm, M.D. lectures nationally and internationally on multiple aspects of dermatology, cancer treatment, and dermatologic and cosmetic surgery.
