Biography
Weihong Pan obtained her MD from Fudan University Shanghai Medical College and PhD in Neuroscience from Tulane University of New Orleans She did her residency training in Neurology at Tulane University and fellowship in Sleep Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center of Harvard Medical School She has been a Professor of Neuroscience at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center since 2007 and is boardcertified in neurology Her areas of expertise include neuroinflammation bloodbrain barrier transport of cytokines and neurotrophic molecules drug delivery to the CNS obesity astrocytes and neural mechanisms of sleep and sleeprelated disorders She is the Associate Editor of Peptides Senior Editor for the Neurodegeneration section of Current Pharmaceutical Design member of 13 editorial boards reviewer for many journals and grant agencies and author of more than 130 full papers and 10 book chapters
