Biography

Dr. Mathews obtained a Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina (USC) where his research was on a coupled DEM-BEM method to improve the modeling of contact problems for elastic bodies. During his time at USC, Dr. Mathews also worked on the modeling, fabrication, and design of a portable high strength military bridge for the U.S. Army. He worked at Ferrell Engineering for 3 years where he designed steel connections for buildings. Some notable jobs are International Gem Tower, 250 West 55th St. New York, and the Freedom Tower - World Trade Center Building 1.
