Biography
Anne Stone is the chief financial officer for People Inc., a leading not-for-profit health and human services agency providing programs and services to more than 12,500 people with special needs, their families, and seniors throughout Western New York. With an operating budget of $143 million and 3,860 employees, People Inc. has assisted individuals to achieve greater degrees of independence and productivity since 1971. Stone joined the agency in 1982 as an accountant, and rose through the ranks to become chief financial officer in 2003. As chief financial officer, Stone has primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the agency. This includes direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, job costing and strategic planning. Stone is actively involved in the Financial Managers Association and the Healthcare Financial Manager Association and is a 2007 graduate of Leadership Buffalo. She serves on the board of directors of Autism Services, Inc. In 2010, Buffalo Business First named her as one of its Financial Executives of the Year. Stone graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a bachelor's degree in accounting. She received her micro/MBA from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a master's degree in organizational leadership from Medaille College.
