Biography
Andrew joined PetroStrat in October 2014, having completed a M.Sc. in Applied and Petroleum Micropalaeontology (with distinction) at the University of Birmingham. His master’s thesis studied Miocene Planktonic Foraminifera from ODP Site 999, Western Caribbean Sea; broadly focussing on biostratigraphy and using depth-stratified planktonic groups to show restructuring of the thermocline related to closure of the Isthmus of Panama. Since joining PetroStrat, Andrew has continued to work on Neogene deep water material from the Colombian Basin and expanded his knowledge further into the Gulf of Mexico, Trinidad and Nigeria. He has also gained experience in Tertiary-Jurassic sections from the North Sea. Fully certified for offshore, he has completed multiple wellsite assignments in the North Sea (UK, Danish and Norwegian sectors), including horizontal ‘biosteering’ and stratigraphic monitoring (HP/HT setting).
