Biography

 Dave has 21 years’ experience in petroleum industry consulting. He completed a Ph.D. on Early Cretaceous nannofossils of the North Sea and Barents Sea (London, 1994) and has worked on Cenozoic, Cretaceous and Jurassic sections practically worldwide, with particular experience in the in the North Sea (Danish, Norwegian & UK sectors), eastern Canada, Trinidad, the US Gulf of Mexico, Brazil, and throughout the West African margin. He is especially familiar with the post-salt biostratigraphy and sequence stratigraphy of the South Atlantic Margins (offshore Brazil, West Africa and eastern Trinidad). Dave has provided wellsite nannopalaeontology services on more than 55 wells in the North Sea (Danish, Norwegian & UK sectors), eastern Canada, the US Gulf of Mexico, Trinidad, Mauritania, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Cote D’Ivoire, Cameroon, Mozambique, Egypt, Oman and Brunei. His wellsite assignments have included ‘biosteering’ of horizontal development wells, casing picks (including HP/HT wells), and long duration overseas jobs in structurally complex settings (more than 4 months on a single well in Trinidad). Additionally, Dave has travelled to Angola and Brazil to conduct rapid-turnaround analyses, and provided training courses in Malaysia and South Africa.
