Biography
Has 30 years’ experience in petroleum industry consulting, primarily as a palynologist (working on Triassic to Neogene sections of diverse regions), but also as a nannopalaeontologist. His main area of expertise is the palynology and correlation of the Atlantic margin of West Africa and South America (post-Salt, pre-Salt and equivalent sections), including dual discipline palynological and nannofossil wellsite work. Having spent 3 years based in Jakarta, Indonesia he is experienced in the Triassic to Cenozoic palynology of the Far East and Australasia and has provided wellsite palynology services on >40 wells in West Irian, east Indonesia and Papua New Guinea on Cretaceous – Middle Jurassic sections. Also carried out >30 palynology wellsits in the North Sea, Norway and West of Ireland on Tertiary, Cretaceous and Late Jurassic sections. Marcus is also experienced in nannopalaeontology of the North Sea, having conducted wellsite biosteering of >30 chalk development wells. In addition, has worked on samples from diverse overseas regions (Middle East, North Africa, South America, Kazakhstan, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, etc.).
