Biography
Dr. Saperstein is a graduate of Boston University School of Medicine. He performed a Neurology residency at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, followed by a Neuromuscular Disease/Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Saperstein is board certified in Neurology, Neuromuscular Medicine and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. Dr. Saperstein specializes in diseases of nerve and muscle (to include ALS, neuropathy, myasthenia gravis, myositis, muscular dystrophy) as well as autonomic nervous systems disorders and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. He is a member of the medical advisory boards for the GBS-CIDP Foundation International and Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America. Dr. Saperstein is active in multicenter research studies of treatments for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, neuropathies, and muscular dystrophy. He has authored or co-authored over 50 journal articles, book chapters and abstracts regarding various aspects of nerve and muscle disease.
