Biography
Mr. John C. Stephens serves as a Chief Financial Officer, United States at Pomona Capital. He joined Pomona in 2011. Previously, he was a Managing Director, Asia at the firm. Mr. Stephens was Co-Founder of EMAlternatives, LLC and served as its Managing Partner. From 2001 to 2006, he focused on private equity advisory and mergers and acquisitions transactions in Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe with both Projects International and Cape Point Capital. He served as an Executive Officer of Embassy of the United States (Russia). Mr. Stephens has over a decade of experience working in emerging markets, including in private equity, and advising middle-market companies on acquisitions, cross-border expansion, and management-led buyouts, including with Global Environment Fund. He also was a Senior Investment Analyst with Global Environment Fund. He began his international career at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow. From 1990 to 1996, Mr. Stephens held a series of positions relating to the former Soviet Union for four years. He has 18 years of private equity experience. Mr. Stephens earned an M.B.A. from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a B.A. in Russian and East European Studies from the University of Washington. Mr. John C.
