Biography
David co-founded Premise in 2012. He has two decades of experience in capital markets, data infrastructure and startups, running the gamut from quant modeling to product design to corporate strategy. He serves on the advisory board of Columbia University’s Institute for Data Sciences, appointed by Columbia President Lee Bollinger, and is also a Venture Partner with Bowery Capital. In a past life, David was a rare books bibliographer in Minneapolis and a drummer in a punk band in New York. David holds a PhD (ABD) from Berkeley, where he was a Javits and Pritchett Fellow pursuing the study of social, economic and linguistic history of the Greek and Roman world. He also holds an undergraduate degree in Near Eastern Languages and Cultures from Columbia. He lives in Berkeley with his wife and three kids.
