Joseph A. Tarantino

Biography

Joseph A. Tarantino has been the president and CEO of Protiviti, a global consulting firm, since December 2007. He is responsible for the company’s worldwide operations, with a global executive team reporting to him. Tarantino has been with Protiviti since its inception in 2002. He served previously as managing director and head of the U.S. Northeast practice, and was also one of five founding members of the Protiviti Operating Committee, which was responsible during the company’s first five years for establishing Protiviti’s vision and strategy and overseeing financial and administrative matters for the organization. In addition, Tarantino previously led Protiviti’s Global Industry Program. Tarantino has more than 30 years of experience working with a variety of organizations to enhance their business performance through risk management, operational effectiveness and enhanced governance. Prior to Protiviti, Tarantino was the head of Arthur Andersen’s Financial Services Assurance practice for metropolitan New York, and he served on the North American and global leadership teams for the financial services industry. He has served clients in various industries with a specialization in banking, including managing internal and external audits, risk consulting engagements, due diligence assignments and large investigations. Tarantino attended St. John’s University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and is currently a member of the Executive Advisory Board of the Department of Accounting and Taxation. A community leader, he serves on the board and finance committees for Calvary Hospital in the Bronx and Boys Hope Girls Hope of New York as well as the Finance Council and Audit Committee of the Diocese of Rockville Centre. In 2014, Tarantino was named one of the National Law Journal's “50 GRC Trailblazers and Pioneers” and in 2015 he was named one of the Top 50 Highest Rated CEOs by Glassdoor.
