Raymund Chao is the Chairman for PwC in Greater China. He is the only representative for Asia on the Global Network Leadership team, which sets the overall strategy for the PwC network. Prior to this role, Raymund was PwC’s Assurance Leader in Asia Pacific. With over 30 years of professional experience, he has provided audit and business advisory services to both state-owned and private enterprises in Hong Kong and in Mainland China. Raymund has been involved in a number of onshore and offshore initial public offerings (IPO), debt financing, corporate restructuring, and merger and acquisition transactions. During the past ten years or so, he has been heavily involved in promoting corporate governance and systems of internal control for enterprises.
Raymund began his career in Toronto, Canada in 1984 and returned to Hong Kong, where he was born and raised, in 1992. He relocated to Beijing, China in 2003 and became PwC’s China Assurance Leader in 2005. From 2011, he became PwC’s Assurance Leader for Asia Pacific and is one of the five core members of the PwC’s Global Assurance Executive Team, which determines the strategy and directions for PwC’s Assurance business on a global basis. Raymund is a Chartered Accountant in Canada and a Certified Public Accountant (practising) in Hong Kong.
