Biography
Dennis Morian, Director of Engineering at QES, is a registered professional engineer with a Master of Science degree in civil engineering from The Pennsylvania State University. He has over 38 years of highway/transportation related engineering experience. His experience includes 20 years with PennDOT where he served in various positions, including those of a district pavement design engineer, chief pavement engineer, construction quality control engineer, and chief structural materials engineer. Since leaving the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation after twenty years of service, he worked on a variety of large-scale federal projects before co-founding QES in 1997 Mr. Morian is registered as a professional engineer in Florida, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and West Virginia. He has over three dozen technical publications and countless technical presentations on a broad range of pavement related topics. Mr. Morian is an active member of the Transportation Research Board’s (TRB) Standing Committee on General and Emerging Pavement Design (AFD30), the Subcommittee for Reflective Cracking (AFD70-1), and the Subcommittee for Integration of Asphalt Paving Mixture Characteristics with Flexible Pavement Structural Design (AFK50-2); Pennsylvania Asphalt Pavement Association Board of Directors; Pennsylvania Asphalt Pavement Quality Initiative Committee; and Pennsylvania Concrete Pavement Quality Initiative Committee.
