Biography
Dr. Peter Kerr is Professor and Director of Nephrology at Monash Medical Centre and Monash University, Victoria, Australia. He completed his undergraduate in medicine at Monash University in 1980 and completed his Nephrology training in Melbourne where he then went on to complete a laboratory PhD in transplant immunology before moving onto haemodialysis. Dr Kerr went onto complete a year studying Haemodialysis in Montpellier, France where he has since been involved in registries (ANZDATA and DOPPS), basic and clinical research and remains an active clinician in charge of a large multi-faceted Nephrology Unit. He is a strong advocate for home-based dialysis therapies and is committed to building and sustaining Nephrology in the Asian-Pacific region. In addition to this, Dr Kerr is also Editor-in-Chief of the Asian-Pacific Journal of Nephrology since 2010.
