Biography
"Jon Poole is a Professor in the Health and Human Performance Department. He taught previously at both the University of Utah and Virginia Tech. Jon serves as the Coordinator for the K-12 Physical and Health Education (PHED) Program teaching elementary school and secondary school teaching methods courses and supervising student teachers completing internship teaching responsibilities in physical and health education. The PHED Program at Radford promotes their motto, “Leaning to Move; Moving to Learn” by advocating more integrated teaching approaches in physical activity settings. As a believer that the physical education environment is a key player in the development of educational skills such as reading, writing, and problem-solving, among others, Jon has help fashion the PHED program to prepare graduates to work closely with classroom teachers to create programs which focus on child-centered school-wide literacy."
