Biography
Kate Hermans joined Radius in March 2017 and brings more than 25 years of international marketing and leadership experience in both developed and emerging markets. In this role, Kate is responsible for marketing strategy and associated support programs. Prior to joining Radius, Kate was the head of Portfolio Strategy for Bristol-Myers Squibb’s Cardiovascular, Fibrosis, Immunoscience and Genetically Defined Diseases. She also held leadership roles for the company’s Orencia® and HCV Worldwide Brand Teams, a combined business worth nearly $4 billion in total annual sales. Earlier in her career, she was a managing principal at Hermans International. She managed the creation of Pfizer Inc.’s Global Commercial Operations Organization, led the launch of Prevnar® and the company’s Vaccines Business Unit in China. Kate also was responsible for successfully leading the Wyeth China Pharmaceutical business, including an 800-person sales force, through the Pfizer acquisition, and led the acceleration of growth for Wyeth’s Protonix® resulting in extending peak-year sales and reaching the No.2 market position in the U.S. as a fourth-to-market launch. Kate was Wyeth’s HBA Rising Star in 2008 and BMS’ HBA Luminary in 2014. She is the founder of the LEAD program, a leadership development program developed exclusively with Columbia University to accelerate diverse talent into senior levels at BMS. She serves on the Board of Directors and is the strategic advisor to the Fund Development Committee for the Women’s Resource Center. Kate earned a B.A. in International Relations from Wheaton College and a Master of International Management degree in Finance from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
