Biography
Dr. Carl Adams has been a consultant and director to more than 1,000 US and foreign industrial wastewater management projects in 32 countries. He has authored over 100 technical publications and coauthored and edited four books and engineering manuals. He recently developed the cost-effective, patent-pending VOC BioTreat™ control technology for facilities with fugitive off-gases proximate to industrial wastewater treatment plants. Considered one of the leading international experts on industrial wastewater management, his special areas of technical expertise include aerobic and anaerobic treatment of high strength and high-salt industrial wastewaters, nitrification-denitrification, membrane technology, chemical oxidation, source control and water recycle and reuse. He has served as a visiting adjunct professor at Vanderbilt University for application of advanced wastewater technology. Carl has invented and developed three patents involving advanced industrial wastewater treatment technology. These patents are installed in over 75 applications in 18 countries. He holds distinctions with the Academy of Distinguished Alumni, Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering at the University of Texas–Austin, and with the Academy of Distinguished Alumni, School of Engineering at Vanderbilt University.
