Biography
Christine G. Anastos has 25 years of experience in engineering, industry and consulting, with expertise in air and water pollution control, stormwater pollution prevention, and spill prevention, control and response. She has conducted over 500 environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance, management system and due diligence assessments, as well as high profile EHS investigations generally related to enforcement actions. She has participated in a wide variety of cases for numerous Fortune 500 public- and private-sector companies in a range of industries, including aerospace, chemical and petrochemical, college and university, food and beverage, manufacturing, mining (coal, specialty metals and minerals), packaging, petroleum refining, pharmaceutical, power generation (fossil, hydroelectric and nuclear) and research and development. Christine has presented to diverse audiences, ranging from plant personnel to senior executives. In many cases, based on the quality of her work, she was asked to assist clients in developing and/or implementing comprehensive root-cause analyses, detailed corrective action plans, capital projects, compliance assurance systems and training programs to address identified areas of concern related to technical compliance and environmental management systems (EMS). This work has also included conceiving and/or implementing ways to minimize potentially significant liabilities and compliance costs. Christine is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Auditing Roundtable. She earned an undergraduate degree in engineering and a graduate degree in civil and environmental engineering, both from Tufts University.
