Biography
As the Vice President of Population Health, Betsy Hampton is responsible for guiding operational performance improvement for Reliant’s payer-based risk pools. She oversees the continuous improvement of medical management and the effective implementation of operational and programmatic interventions designed to support resource stewardship efforts. She has led the organization in building an infrastructure to respond to payment reform and global risk. Key responsibilities include recognizing the critical linkage between the organization’s efforts to improve quality, reduce risk and minimize unnecessary and preventable resource expenditures. Prior to joining Reliant, Ms. Hampton had executive oversight of Aetna/Schaller Anderson’s Medicaid programs in New Hampshire and Maine. Her responsibilities included ensuring the successful implementation and ongoing operations of the Medical Management programs for Medicaid recipients. Goals included providing suitable interventions that create greater access to care, improved outcomes, and lower utilization rates for Medicaid recipients with complex health conditions. Ms. Hampton received her MBA and BA degrees in business administration from Shorter College in Rome, Georgia and her nursing degree from the University of Hawaii.
