Walter C. Herlihy, Ph.D. joined Repligen in March 1996 as President, Chief Executive Officer and Director in connection with Repligen's merger with Glycan Pharmaceuticals, Inc., where he served as President and CEO from July 1993 to March 1996. On January 16, 2015, Walter C. Herlihy, Ph.D. informed the Board of Directors of his plans to retire as President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of the Company effective as of the date of the Annual Meeting. Following his retirement, Dr. Herlihy will serve as Senior Advisor to the Company and the Board of Directors through December 31, 2015. From October 1981 to June 1993, he held numerous research positions at Repligen, including as Senior Vice President, Research and Development.
