Christian H. Mongrain

Biography

 Christian Mongrain is an expert in the continuum of care provided to patients in healthcare settings. He is experienced in creating and implementing injury prevention training for patients and employees, managing policies in compliance with state and federal guidelines, and performing root cause analyses of patient incidents. He applies his expertise to forensic casework involving patients who have suffered acute injuries or negative health outcomes associated with the care or supervision provided within the healthcare system. Mr. Mongrain has been the director of therapies for inpatient and outpatient facilities, including all inpatient therapies at Penn Medicine’s acute hospitals, their long term acute care hospital, subacute rehab, skilled-nursing facility, and the Penn Institute for Rehab Medicine. Throughout his career, Christian has guided and tracked patients through a comprehensive array of health services to ensure they receive quality and timely care at the most appropriate setting for their injury or illness. Christian has been an active member of numerous committees in the hospitals where he worked, addressing quality, product review, wound prevention, fall prevention, infection prevention and control, employee standards, and both patient and employee safety. Christian earned both his Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health Education and Masters of Physical Therapy degree from Temple University. As a lifelong learner, Christian continues to broaden his knowledge while pursuing his doctorate at Arcadia University.

Research Interest

 Christian Mongrain maintains an active clinical practice. As a Moss Rehab per diem physical therapist, Mr. Mongrain evaluates and treats patients at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery. Mr. Mongrain typically cares for adult and geriatric patients with a variety of diagnoses including, but not limited to: Orthopedic such as hip or knee surgeries, Cardiac such as bypass and valve replacements, Neuro such as stroke and Parkinson Disease, or Medicine such as pneumonia or infection. As a member of the interdisciplinary care team, Mr. Mongrain works with doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, therapists, patients, family members, and other hospital staff to optimize patient outcomes.
