Biography
Dr. Mona Kennedy is a board-certified family medicinephysician with additional certification in obesity medicine.Dr. Kennedy specializes in pediatrics, women's health,adult medicine, and urgent care. She has a particularinterest and expertise in nutritional and weight lossmanagement. Dr. Kennedy is affiliated with NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital. Dr. Kennedy joins NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group/Lawrence from DOCS Medical, a multispecialty grouppractice affiliated with Mount Sinai Hospital. She is alicensed New York State Volunteer Emergency MedicalTechnician and served with the Bay Ridge AmbulanceVolunteer Organization in Brooklyn for five years. Dr. Kennedy received her medical degree from the SUNYStony Brook University School of Medicine, followed byresidency training at Stamford Hospital in Connecticut aspart of the Columbia University Family Medicine Program.She completed her undergraduate degree at the SophieDavis School of Biomedical Education, City College ofNew York. During medical school and residency training, Dr. Kennedywas the recipient of a number of honors and awards.These include Senator Golden's Certificate of Appreciationfor Outstanding Dedication and Service to the Communityand the Leon Marienberg Family Practice Award. She took first place for her poster presentation, "IdentifyingHigh-Risk Patients for Substance Abuse in the StamfordCommunity" in a competition sponsored by the AmericanSociety of Addiction Medicine, Connecticut chapter.
