Royal Electric Company

Biography
The firm traces its origin to 1961 when Leo F. Vellutini began contracting out of his home in Sacramento. In 1971, the name Royal Electric Company was adopted and became known for its exceptional service in small commercial, residential and maintenance work. The 1970s were marked by growth in several market areas, including Multi-Family, Industrial and Public Works Construction. Leo’s son, Frank Vellutini, joined the company in 1974 and became a partner with his father in 1977 when the firm incorporated as Vellutini Corporation dba. Royal Electric Company. In the early 1980s, the partners added a specialty in underground electrical work. Starting with underground utilities, street lighting and traffic signals, Royal Electric Company soon moved into other niche underground markets such as airport runway lighting and highway projects.
