Biography
In his new role as chairman of Royal Engineers Dwayne Bernal serves as the lead for business development opportunities in the Greater New Orleans area. He continues to be an active member of the executive team through involvement in key management and strategic decisions. Dwayne’s experience includes client liaison, contract negotiations and administration, project scoping and budget, manpower assignments and overall project quality control. Dwayne remains actively involved in the local business community through his role as an appointee to the NOLA Business Alliance, a not-for-profit corporation that serves as the City of New Orleans’ official public-private partnership for economic development; as well as a member of the Business Council of New Orleans & The River Region, a collaborative effort of engaged business leaders who believe New Orleans is a rewarding place in which to live and work. The Business Council focuses on public policy issues that affect New Orleans’ quality of life and prospects for the future. In additional to his passion for engineering and business, Dwayne is committed to community services, social uplift, and the arts. A graduate of the United States Military Academy (West Point), Mr. Bernal excelled in the classroom, graduating in 2001 in Engineering Management with a focus in civil engineering. Commissioned in the Air Defense Artillery Branch, he proudly served as a Second and First Lieutenant in the United States Army.
