Andy Macrae

Biography

  Andy MacRae leads the firm's activities in Western Canada. Based in Calgary, he specializes in serving clients in the Industrial/Natural Resources Sector. The majority of his work focuses on board directors, executive level search and leadership succession planning. Andy counsels clients ranging from globally integrated oil and gas companies to pre-commercial start-ups many of which involve private equity investors. Previous Experience Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, Andy was a Consulting Partner and executive at IBM located in Calgary, where he led the Energy Consulting Practice across Canada. Prior to this, he held other senior leadership roles within IBM and PwC Consulting, where he focused on the energy sector including domestic and international consulting engagements. His areas of expertise included strategic planning, business optimization and post-merger integration with many global and domestic corporations in oil and gas, utilities and mining. In addition to consulting, Andy brings over 16 years working within one of Canada'​s leading integrated oil and gas companies. Additional Professional Activities   Andy sits on the Board of WaterSMART, a company committed to improving water management through better technologies and practices. Working with an industry where water is a scarce and highly valuable resource, Andy is passionate about supporting smarter usage of water to help businesses and individuals reduce their water footprint.​ Education Andy received his Bachelor of Science, honors, in Economics from University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada.
