Biography

Dr. Bernard M. Gordon, MS, also known as Bernie, served as Advisor of IDSS Holdings, Inc. Dr. Gordon Co-founded Neurologica Corporation and serves as its Chairman. Dr. Gordon serves as President of Sigma Phi Alpha Corporation. Dr. Gordon founded Analogic Corporation in 1967 and served as its Advisor. He co-founded Wolf-Gordon, Inc. in 1967. He also served as the Chief Executive Officer of Analogic Corporation from February 2002 to August 2003 and also served as its President from 1980 to 1995 and again from February 2002 to April 2003. Prior to Analogic, he co-founded Epsco, Incorporated and served as its President. Dr. Gordon Founded Photo Diagnostic Systems, Inc. He is Chairman of Photo Diagnostic Systems, Inc., involved in advanced imaging. He remains an active, entrepreneurial innovator. Dr. Gordon serves as the Chairman Emeritus of Lahey Clinic Foundation, Inc. He served as the Chairman of Lahey Clinic, Inc. He served as the Chairman of Analogic Corp. from 1969 to May 2004 and again from November 8, 2006 to January 28, 2008 and also an Interim Executive Chairman from November 8, 2006 to May 2007. He serves as a Director at Photo Diagnostic Systems, Inc and Sage Science, Inc. He has been a Director at IDSS Holdings, Inc. since December 2013. He serves as a Member of Executive Advisory Board of innoPad, Inc. He served as a Director of PhotoDetection Systems, Inc. He served as a Director of Merge Healthcare Canada Corp. from October 2001 to November 2004. He served as a Trustee of Tufts University. He served as a Director of Analogic Corporation from 1969 to July 2009. He served as a Director of Cedara Software Corp. from October 2001 to November 2004. He is considered as the "father of analog to digital conversion" for his inventions and contributions to signal translation, medical tomography and other high-precision instrumentation. In 1986, he received the National Medal of Technology from President Reagan, and in 1991, he was elected a member of the National Academy of Engineering and has been the recipient of several Honorary Engineering Doctoral degrees. He holds more than 200 patents worldwide. A lifelong inventor, Mr. Gordon’s creations include the fetal monitor, the high-speed analog-to-digital converter, the instant imaging computer-aided tomography scanner, and Doppler radar. He is the primary architect of the multi-slice dual-energy computer tomography system that is the basis of the eXaminer 3DX 6000 Certified Explosive Detection System with over 1,000 units installed at airports worldwide. He has been honored by the Engineering Societies of New England, the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, the Franklin Institute, the Museum of Science and Eta Kappa Nu, among others. He established the National Academy of Engineering’s Bernard M. Gordon Prize for Engineering Leadership Education. Dr. Gordon received B.S and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1949 and several honorary doctorate degrees in engineering and science.
