Biography
Dr. Winstead is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He teaches project and general management courses at the undergraduate/graduate level while having served on several committees including faculty hiring, SACS accreditation, Project Management MBA, and the Faculty Senate Graduate Program & Curriculum Committee. Dr. Winstead developed classes for project management (BA and MBA) and for the DBA program which started in 2014. He writes on numerous subjects including the academic job search, project management, decision-making, ethics, networking, human behavior, and the music industry. Beyond his academic background, Dr. Winstead has more than 15 years of corporate experience in sales, training, and quality for a Fortune 500 company. Dr. Winstead also boasts a rich history in the entertainment industry having managed multiple award-winning music groups, placed music on major projects, and received two U.S. Department of State, Fulbright-Hays Educational and Cultural Exchange Grants for management clients to travel and perform abroad.
Research Interest
Teaching & Professional Interests: Dr. Winstead is interested in researching and advocating for ethical decision-making in project and general business management, principled business leadership from an international perspective, technological advances in higher education, and applying project management principles to the field of entertainment (concert touring, artist development etc.).
