Biography
Dr. Aefsky has over 35 years of experience as a teacher and administrator in public schools. She has been an adjunct in special education and educational leadership in various universities. She retired from NY as a school superintendent. Her area of specialization is system change, educating at risk learners, and creating a community culture through building partnerships. She has taught masters and doctoral level classes in special education, school law, and educational leadership.
Research Interest
Teaching & Professional Interests: Research interests include engaging the community to increase student achievement, transformational leadership for sustainable system change, and engaging all learners. She is completing a book on building and sustaining partnerships with K-12 schools. Professional memberships include: Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD); Florida Association of Professors of Educational Leadership (FAPEL); FACTE (Florida Association of Colleges for Teacher Education); New York State Council of School Superintendents (NYSCOSS).
