Biography
Dr. Kevin M. Kieffer received a B.A. degree in psychology from Indiana University, a M.S. degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M University. He completed both a predoctoral internship and a postdoctoral residency in geropsychology and neuropsychology at the James A Haley VA Medical Center in Tampa, Florida and is a licensed psychologist in the State of Florida. Dr. Kieffer has published over 18 scholarly articles and book chapters and has presented over 90 papers at national and international psychological conventions. His research interests include methodology, research, and statistics, substance abuse screening and treatment, and geropsychological and neuropsychological assessment in addition to a more recent focus on the effects of violent media and videogame content on player behavior. Dr. Kieffer's recent scholarly work has been featured in a number of media outlets from newspapers such as the New York, Los Angeles and London Times to TV stations such as CNN, ABC and NBC Nightly News.
