Biography
Dr. Cetas is Emeritus Professor and Director, Division of Physics, Department of Radiation Oncology (1989-1994), The University of Arizona. Dr. Cetas held appointments as Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Professor of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, The University of Arizona. Dr. Cetas’ research interests are focused on biomedical physics and engineering with an emphasis on applications of radiological physics. He is the developer of a number of medical devices in radiation medical physics, and holds a patent on a novel medical device. Dr. Cetas is author of an impressive body of work comprising 97 refereed original research medical journal articles, approximately 91 abstracts and presentations at scientific meetings, many as an invited speaker, and 20 chapters in medical reference and monographs. Dr. Cetas was the recipient of 31 research grants, primarily funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He held three investigational device exemptions (IDE) for both single and multiple clinic studies.
