Biography
Dr. Woodhead joined the SJSU Psychology Department in 2012. She holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from West Virginia University (2009). Before joining the SJSU Psychology Department, Dr. Woodhead completed clinical and research postdoctoral training in geropsychology and geriatrics at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago and at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. Dr. Woodhead’s scholarly work has appeared in peer-reviewed journals, including Journal of Affective Disorders, Professional Psychology: Research and Practice, Journal of Applied Gerontology, Psychology and Aging, International Psychogeriatrics, Aging and Mental Health, and the American Journal of Health Behavior. Her research interests qualitative research, interventions to facilitate mental health treatment among older adults, increasing aging content in undergraduate and graduate psychology curricula, and online teaching.
