Pierre Bedossa.

Biography

 Dr Bedossa is a Professor of Pathology at the University Paris-Diderot, France. He is currently Head of the Department of Pathology, Physiology and Nuclear Medicine at the Groupe Hospitalier Paris Nord. He is Chairman and Head of the Department of Pathology at Beaujon Hospital, Paris FRANCE. He is specialized in liver pathology. He is the leader of the METAVIR group and of the FLIP pathology consortium. He has developed new scoring systems in chronic hepatitis and NAFLD. From 2001 to 2013, he was appointed as director of the research unit “pathophysiology of liver diseases “(CNRS) and team leader of “cirrhosis and liver cancer group” at the Center for Biomedical Research, INSERM U773, Paris, France. He was a member of the editorial board of Journal of Hepatology (1991-1996), Hepatology (2001-2006), Journal of Pathology (since 2002-2010) and Associate editor of Virchows Archiv of Pathology (2003-2012). He has published more than 390 articles in peer-reviewed journals and 16 book chapters.  Pierre Bedossa is the current president of the European Society of Pathology.
