Biography
Stanton K. Shernan, MD, FAHA, FASE is currently a Professor of Anaesthesia at Harvard Medical School, and the Executive Vice-Chairman and Chief of the Cardiac Anesthesia Division at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He is the Immediate Past President of the National Board of Echocardiography and current Secretary / Treasurer of the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists. Dr. Shernan has published over 200 original manuscripts, review articles and textbook chapters on the etiology and management of perioperative myocardial ischemia and reperfusion injury and the role of perioperative echocardiography in clinical and surgical decision-making.
