Biography

Dr. Martin serves as a Clinical Associate Professor in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences (BBS). He teaches several courses in the doctor of audiology program (AuD) and serves as a research mentor to AuD and PhD students. He previously served as the clinical Head of Audiology at the Callier Center for Communication Disorders. Research by Dr. Martin and colleagues evaluating complexities in central auditory assessment and diagnosis have been recognized by the Hearing Journal as being one of the top peer-reviewed research articles appearing in the hearing science and audiology literature. He is a licensed audiologist in Texas and currently serves as the Past President of the Texas Academy of Audiology. Dr. Martin earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Texas at Austin, and his PhD at the University of Texas at Dallas. Research Interest

Memory and cognition, quantitative models, neuroimaging, genomics, Nonverbal cognition with specific projects focused on human aging and memory, long-term memory for faces, perception of faces, eyewitness memory, and music cognition.
