Biography

Dr. Van Miller is a mostly retired pediatric neurologist who teaches classes in behavioral neuroscience, neuroanatomy, medical neuroscience, and epilepsy. Before coming to UT Dallas, he served as an associate professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center and also has worked in private practice. Dr. Miller has won several teaching awards, including the UT Dallas President’s Teaching Award. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia, his PhD from the University of Texas at Austin, and his MD from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Research Interest

Memory and cognition, quantitative models, neuroimaging, genomics, Nonverbal cognition with specific projects focused on human aging and memory, long-term memory for faces, perception of faces, eyewitness memory, and music cognition.
