Biography

Education: BS, University of Alabama, 2010; PhD, University of Alabama, 2015. At SPU since 2015. Randy Beavers joined the School of Business, Government, and Economics after receiving his Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Alabama. While at the University of Alabama, Randy taught Business Finance and Financial Management.  Before joining academia, Randy interned at the Bureau of Justice Statistics in Washington, D.C. During his internship he worked on several projects, including studies of deaths in custody and HIV in prisons. Randy is an avid sports fan and supporter of Crimson Tide Athletics. In his spare time, he loves to play tennis and travel. He attends Alderwood Community Church.

Research Interest

Randy’s research interests focus on executive compensation, corporate finance, and financial education.
