Biography
Education: BSN, Seattle Pacific University, 2005; DNP, University of Washington, 2012. At SPU since 2015. Dr. Yolanda (Yoli) Grandjean joins the School of Health Sciences faculty with an appreciation and knowledge of our mission and culture as a graduate from SPU, where she earned her BSN. She earned her doctor of nursing practice in Community Health Nursing at the University of Washington. Dr. Grandjean has worked as a registered nurse in community and public health settings in the Seattle area, including local community health clinics and the local health department, and as the manager of a public health clinic. During her doctoral program, she worked closely with residents of a Seattle Housing Authority senior housing building to explore ways to promote health and well-being. In her work with underserved and disadvantaged populations, she strives to follow the example of Jesus as a servant to the poor and vulnerable. She is excited to be a member of a community that is actively pursuing reconciliation and social justice. Dr. Grandjean teaches in both the graduate and undergraduate nursing programs. Dr. Grandjean’s passion for health and wellness has led her to earn certifications as a health coach and yoga instructor. She has a special interest in exploring the role of yoga in recovery from emotional and physical trauma.
