Biography

 Mr. James M. Bernhard, Jr., also known as Jim, is the Founder, Partner, and Chief Executive at Bernhard Capital Partners Management LP. Mr. Bernhard is involved in all areas of investment activities. Mr. Bernhard founded Shaw NC Company, Inc. in August 1987 and has been its Chairman since 1993 and also serves as its Chief Executive Officer, President, and Director. He founded The Shaw Group Inc. of Shaw Environmental & Infrastructure Inc. in August 1987 and served as its Chairman from August 1990 to February 13, 2013, Chief Executive Officer from August 1987 to February 13, 2013, and President from November 2006 to February 13, 2013. Mr. Bernhard served as Chairman since 1987 and Chief Executive Officer at Shaw Group Inc., and served as its President from August 1987 to October 1, 2003. For over 25 years, Mr. Bernhard led the growth of The Shaw Group as the Chief Executive Officer, President, and Chairman of the Board. Mr. Bernhard played a leading role in every major decision from its founding until its sale. In 2009, Mr. Bernhard co-founded Every Kid a King. Prior to this, he served as the Vice President and General Manager at Sunland Services. Mr. Bernhard served as a Director of Barnard and Burk Engineers & Constructors. He is a Member of numerous other trade and civic organizations. Mr. Bernhard was inducted into the LSU Alumni Association Hall of Distinction in 2006 and received the Ernst & Young "U.S. Entrepreneur of the Year" Award in 2001. Mr. Bernhard is regarded as an expert in the energy services industry and has testified before the U.S. Senate’s Energy Subcommittee to discuss pending energy issues in the United States and across the globe. He has spent over 21 years in the pipe fabrication business. Mr. Bernhard graduated from Louisiana State University in 1976 with a B.A. degree in Construction Management.
