Biography
Dr. John P. Glaser, also known as Jack, Ph.D., is a Co-Founder of KEW, Inc. (alternate name, KEW Group LLC). Dr. Glaser has been Senior Vice President of Population Health at Cerner Corporation since April 1, 2016. He has heath information technology career spans more than 30 years, is a leader in the health care industry and in academia. Dr. Glaser served as Senior Vice President of Population Health and Global Strategy at Cerner Corporation since September 6, 2016. He served as Senior Vice President of Client Administration of Cerner Corporation since February 2, 2015 and served as its Executive Vice President. He was responsible for driving at Cerner's technology and product strategies, interoperability and government policy development. He also leverage his extensive health IT background to drive policy, strategic initiatives and market innovations, for Cerner. Dr. Glaser served as Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Health Services, the health information technology business unit of Siemens AG (also known as Siemens Aktiengesellschaft) and Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. since August 16, 2010. In this role, he was responsible for leading Siemens' global healthcare IT business, including product development, strategy, portfolio management, financial performance and overall customer satisfaction. He has shaped the way that hospitals, physicians and regulators are embraces information technology to deliver safer, faster and more efficient healthcare while also addressing concerns of privacy, security and cost savings. He served as Senior Vice President of the Theology and Ethics Department and Center Director for the Center for Healthcare Reform at St. Joseph Health System. He served as the Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Partners HealthCare System, Inc., directing IT for an organization of ten hospitals, 7,000 physicians and 45,000 employees, including a team of 1300 IT professionals and served as the President of the eHealth Initiative. He served as an Executive Officer at Coibion & Associates, Inc. He served as Director of Ethics for the Sisters of Mercy Health Corporation and Vice President of Mount Carmel Mercy Hospital, Detroit. He served as Vice President of Information Systems of Brigham and Women's Hospital. Prior to Brigham and Women's Hospital, he managed the healthcare information systems consulting practice at Arthur D. Little. He served as an Advisor to David Blumenthal, the national coordinator for healthcare IT, providing counsel to the Office of the National Coordinator and the Department of Health and Human Services on the HITECH portions of the federal government's stimulus bill, particularly regarding national efforts to adopt electronic medical records. He serves on multiple industry boards. He has been a Director of Aventura, Inc. since July 2015, InTouch Technologies, Inc. since October 25, 2012 and American Telemedicine Association since January 17, 2015. He has been an Independent Director of Press Ganey Holdings, Inc. since April 25, 2016. He has been a Director of National Committee For Quality Assurance since March 2017. He serves as a Director of eHealth Initiative. He served as an Independent Director of Surescripts, LLC (Alternative Name: SureScripts-RxHub, LLC) since May 2006. He served as a Member of the Advisory Board of RMD Networks, Inc. and also as its Member of e-Healthcare Advisory Board since January 2006. He served as the President of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). He was a Professor of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Detroit and at St. Mary of the Lake Seminary, Mundelein, Illinois. He was the Founding Chairman of College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME). He serves on the Editorial Boards of CIO Magazine, Healthcare Informatics, Biotechnology Healthcare, Journal of Biomedical Informatics and Journal of Healthcare Information Management. He serves as a Member of the Board of the American Medical Informatics Association. He is on the faculty at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, the Medical University of South Carolina, the School of Biomedical Informatics at the Texas Health Science Center and the Harvard School of Public Health. He has published over 90 articles and two books on the strategic application of information technology in healthcare. He has authored three books, several dozen articles and a score of videotapes, poetry and photographic work. Most notably, he received the 1994 John Gall CIO of the Year award and CHIME has established a scholarship in his name. He was a recipient of CIO Magazine''s 20/20 Vision Award. He spent several years as a Psychotherapist in private practice. He is a Fellow of HIMSS, CHIME and the American College of Medical Informatics. He holds graduate degrees in Philosophy, English Literature, Psychology and Theology. Dr. Glaser holds a Ph.D. in Healthcare Information Systems from the University of Minnesota and BA in Mathematics from Duke University.
