Biography
Dr. Schmidt assumed his current role in 2015 after two years as president of Murphy-Brown, a former Smithfield independent operating company. He has more than 30 years of animal agriculture experience, including several executive positions at Murphy-Brown. Dr. Schmidt joined the company in 2001 following its merger with Carroll's Foods, where he had spent the previous 15 years.
