Frank Yu

Biography

Mr. Yu is Co-founder and CEO of Themes Investment Partners, a China-focused private equity fund, and Founder and CEO of Ally Bridge Group, a global healthcare-focused investment fund. Mr. Yu has expertise in cementing strategic partnerships between leading players in China and global companies with cutting-edge technologies, as well as helping global companies to open the China market. In addition to Sonendo, Mr. Yu has led and actively manages investments in medtech companies including Lifetech Scientific (Medtronic’s strategic partner in China), LoneStar Heart, Metronom and Broncus Medical, and bio-pharmaceutical companies including China Animal Health (Eli Lilly-Elanco’s strategic partner in China), Apexigen, Kato and ImmunGene. Previously, Mr. Yu was Managing Director and Head of China Investments at Och-Ziff Capital Management, a leading global hedge fund. Prior to Och-Ziff, Mr. Yu was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs Hong Kong, where he had played instrumental roles in some of the most important restructuring, IPO and M&A transactions of leading Chinese companies, and had advised leading global institutions on their China and Asia strategies and transactions. Before Goldman Sachs, Mr. Yu had worked at Moody’s in New York and then Credit Suisse in London and Hong Kong.
