Barry L. Saunders

Biography

 Mr. Barry L. Saunders has been the Chief Financial Officer of Sonoco Products Company since May 1, 2011 and has been its Senior Vice President since May 2015. Mr. Saunders served as Principal Accounting Officer of Sonoco Products Company until October 18, 2016 and served as its Vice President from February 2008 to April 2015. Mr. Saunders served as the Chief Accounting Officer at Sonoco Products Co. from 2008 to May 1, 2011 and served as its Corporate Controller from 2002 to May 1, 2011. He worked in leadership positions in Sonoco Products’ Treasury department for seven years before becoming director of corporate reporting and accounting. He then moved to Brussels, Belgium, for four years as director of finance for Sonoco Products’ European operations before returning as Staff Vice President and Global Controller of its Industrial businesses. He served as Staff Vice President of Sonoco Products Co from 2002 to 2008. He joined Sonoco Products in 1989 after working as an audit manager with Ernst & Young. He is a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Saunders is a University of South Carolina graduate, where he received a B.S. degree in accounting in 1981 and an MBA in 1989.
