Philip Rowley

Biography

Mr. Philip Rowley has been Chief Financial Officer and Senior Executive Vice President at Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. since July 18, 2016. Mr. Rowley is responsible for all of Sony Pictures Entertainment's financial affairs and corporate development opportunities and oversees SPE's information technology, facilities, procurement, security and health and safety divisions. He served as the Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and President of AOL Europe Sarl for Time Warner Inc. until February 2007. He served with Promethean Limited from 2001 to 2007. He served as Group Finance Director of Kingfisher plc from August 1998 to March 2001 and Deputy Chief Executive and Finance Director of its General Merchandise Division from 2000 to 2001. He has held a number of roles in AOL Europe from May 2001 to February 2007. Before Kingfisher plc, he served with Golden Books Family Entertainment, where he served as an Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. In 1995, he co-founded Tribeca Technologies and served as its Managing Director. Mr. Rowley served as an Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of EMI Music Worldwide, where he was responsible for its finance, strategy, human resources, manufacturing, distribution and the recording studios from 1988 to 1994. He held various senior finance roles with EMI Music in New York and London, with Thorn EMI Screen Entertainment in Los Angeles and with Thorn EMI Video in New York and London. Mr. Rowley also served as a Manager for EMI Records (UK) Artists and Repertoire (A&R) department. He has been the Chairman of Promethean, Inc since May 2014. He has been Chairman of the Board at Promethean Limited since May 2014. He serves as the Chairman of Livestation Limited and Pouncer Media Limited. He served as Chairman of the Board at Promethean World plc from 2010 to September 17, 2015. He served as the Chairman of AOL Ltd. since April 6, 2006. He served as the Chairman of ARM Holdings Plc (formerly, ARM Limited). He served as the Non-Executive Chairman of HMV Group plc from 2010 to 2015. He has been a Director at Promethean Limited since October 2009. He has been a Director at Promethean, Inc. since October 2009. He served as Director of Promethean World Plc from October 2009 to September 17, 2015. He serves as a Non-Executive Director at Skinkers Limited. He serves as a Non-Executive Director of Chalkfree Limited. He served as a Non-Executive Director of HMV Group plc since October 1, 2007 until 2015. Mr. Rowley is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College in London.
