Biography
Her research is primarily focused on the development of novel vaccination strategies against viral pathogens that pose a significant risk to human or animal health. Porcine epidemic diarrhea (PED) is caused by a coronavirus that was first identified in the U.S. in May 2013. Since then, the virus has spread to hog farms in 31 U.S. states and resulted in the deaths of more than 9 million piglets, or more than 10% of US herd.
