Biography
JESSICA GARCIA FRITZ is a South Dakota native who has worked and studied in different locations in the United States and Europe. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and a Master of Architecture from the University of Minnesota, School of Architecture, where she was a finalist for the Richard Morrill Memorial Thesis Award for Design Excellence. Following graduate school she worked as an intern architect in New York City and began working as an exhibit designer at the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI). Working with the NMAI Exhibits and Public Spaces Department, she gained experience in designing and constructing museum exhibits with a socio-cultural and historical focus. Jessica is an Assistant Professor at DoArch (Department of Architecture) at South Dakota State University, where she teaches design studio, architectural history, and manages the architectural library collection.
