Biography
Dr. Brooks went on to graduate with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree from Mercer University in Macon, Ga., where he was a Ty Cobb Scholar, Troutman Weir Scholar Athlete of the Year, and an officer of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He obtained his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) and earned the Outstanding Surgery Research Award and election into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Brooks completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at MCG in 2003, and then served as an assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery for two years. Subsequently, he joined the staff of Southern Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Brunswick, where he remains in practice. Dr. Brooks has earned fellowship status with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He specializes in total joint replacement, implementing the latest technologies including computer and robotic assisted surgery. He has served as the medical director of the Joint Replacement Center since its inception
