Biography
Dr. Liu is an Associate Professor in EH. He received his Ph.D. in environmental science and engineering from Harvard University in 2004 and completed his postdoctoral training in Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. His research interests include the application of satellite remote sensing in air pollution exposure modeling and health effects studies at urban to national scales as well as the potential impacts of global climate change on public health. He has led and participated in multiple projects funded by NASA, EPA, and NIH to apply satellite remote sensing data in air pollution exposure modeling and health effects research. He has also led CDC, EPA and NIH funded projects to explore the population health risks in US due to climate change. He is a member of the NASA Terra MISR science team, the NASA Aura science team, the NASA MAIA science team, and a PI member of the NASA AQAST and HAQAST teams. He is a Co-investigator of USEPA's Southeastern Center for Air Pollution and Epidemiology (SCAPE).
